In the Chinese culture, Chinese people will burn paper folded product as to consecrate to the deceased.
祭品
n. (Trad=祭品, Pinyin=ji4 pin3) sacrificial offering, oblation
It used to burn only necessities such as money, cloth, shelter and such. All the necessities were folded by paper, and painted accordingly. Now, people are burning more goods to pay honor to their deceased friend and family.
